“I decided to do a boudoir session because this year has been a big transition year, with a lot of time spent healing injuries and focusing on my well-being and physical fitness… I suppose this was my way of celebrating all the work I’ve done! I decided to book with Gloss because I’ve been following them on social media for years, watching most of my friends post about the shoots they’d done as well, and was always really impressed by the consistency of the work.”

“Honestly, I wasn’t really sure what to expect before my shoot!  I had an idea of what I wanted in my head, but I find sometimes the photographer has something totally different in mind, and if you don’t listen to each other you end up with a roll of photos you won’t use… so I was really impressed that the entire shoot was guided specifically by what I needed and wanted out of it. My favourite thing about my shoot was that I came in with this weird idea of using some of my moms old lingerie and slips… and Marcee totally went with it and they turned out to be my favourite shots!”

“I would tell any other women that are considering a shoot with Gloss, don’t you want to crack open an old album 50 years from now and say: “You know, your Nana was quite a FOX in her day…”

“My favourite memory from the shoot day was just the big silly grin I left with afterwards! And then when I saw my photos for the first time I thought: “Aw DAMNIT… I like them all!”

“I decided to do a boudoir session because I’m a dancer/heels dance teacher in Squamish and I needed some social media content. I had always been a bit hesitant, I wasn’t sure if a boudoir shoot would be ‘for me’, but I followed Gloss on instagram and had always valued the quality and professionalism of their work. I saw a couple friends of mine pop up on their blog and they looked AMAZING – that was the last straw. I bit the bullet and booked a session! I decided to book with Gloss because  I know many other dancers in the community who have booked sessions with them and RAVED about their experience. Everything from the professionalism to the quality of the photos and all the fun throughout the process – so when I did decide to book their was no question.”

“I was SO nervous before my shoot! I had never done anything like this before and had no idea what to expect. As soon as I got to the studio that all went away. The ladies made me feel so welcome and comfortable. I felt as if I had been there 1000 times before. My favourite thing about the shoot was the variety. Originally when I booked my session it was only supposed to be 30 minutes. At the last second I added on some more time and I’m SO happy I did. I loved being able to work with a variety of outfits and watch as the photographer transformed the room to suit each one. The best memory for me was the way I felt after my shoot. I had my session in the morning and I left on a high that lasted the entire day – the entire weekend even!”

“I would like to tell other women that are considering doing a boudoir shoot that it is 150% worth it. The ladies at Gloss make you feel like a Queen and every woman deserves to feel that way! I was shocked when I saw my photos! I could hardly believe that that was ME in all of them. During the shoot I felt very empowered and feminine, when I saw my photos for the first time all of those feelings came rushing back. It was a really powerful moment. I can’t wait to come back for round 2!”

“I decided to do a boudoir shoot because I had been following Gloss on Instagram for a while and saw a promotion that they were offering that seemed like a great deal! I figured it was worthwhile to do the shoot and if I loved the photos I could pay for more. I have struggled with my body image for almost my whole life, and had finally reached a point where I decided I wasn’t going to try to change the size or shape of my body anymore. I thought that doing this boudoir session might help me to see myself differently and appreciate my body the way it is. I loved the quality of photography, the design of the space, and the overall style of the photos done by Gloss. I also really valued the range of body types shown on Gloss’s social media and blog, and that they celebrated the sensuality of all women.”

“I was somewhat nervous before my shoot , but told myself I was just going to enjoy the experience for what it was and try to let go and have fun with the process. Once I got to the studio, Marcee was very warm and put me right at ease. Her clear directions and encouragement made the process effortless. I never had to worry about not knowing how to pose or what to do with my hands – having never ‘modeled’ before, I really appreciated her guidance. I was amazed how many different poses and shots she managed to get in the time we had.”

“When I saw my photos for the first time I was surprised again by how many different photos there were, and knew it would be hard to choose my favourites! I loved the angles that Marcee found and the way she worked with the light in the space. I could still notice what I perceive to be the flaws in my appearance, but there were so many other lovely aspects of the photos to draw my attention that I was able to not dwell on them. I would tell any other women that are considering a shoot to find outfits that reflect your personality or style, something you will feel like yourself in rather than a costume. Don’t worry about any “flaws” you think you have – the photographers know how to pose you in a way that’s flattering.”

Gloss Girl B came into our Vancouver Boudoir studio for her second shoot with us! We loved having her back, and also love her reasons for having another session with us!

“I decided to do a boudoir shoot because it was my 40th birthday and I wanted to do something special for myself to remember and celebrate the day in a positive way! 🙂 I had my first photoshoot with GLOSS in November of 2016 and from that day on I knew I wanted to come back in and do it again! One of my favourite memories of the day was thinking ‘What a way to spend my 40th birthday!’…although I was alone, I was surrounded with women who celebrated me, and my body. They made me feel so beautiful…what more could a girl ask for?! Another favourite thing about my shoot was Marcee…everything about her…what a beautiful soul :)”

“When I saw my photos for the first time, I had mixed feelings…this photoshoot was not like my other one…I was doing this for myself, not my man…last time I choose things that he would have liked, as I got the book made for him…I kept it natural…this time I wanted to vamp it up with more sexy outfits & make up…darker & more sensual…I think it was just weird to see myself in that way…but I love them as much as the others & I am happy that I did something different!!! 🙂 I would tell other women that are considering a shoot with Gloss Boudoir, Just do it! Do it for yourself, your partner, your dog…just do it!”
